PARIS of course

No need fly through Paris without a visit. Scott and I spent four days walking Paris. It was cold and some times wet, but it was a fabulous visit. The highlight was marching in one of the demonstrations that are happening in Paris. The news leads you to believe that Paris is burning, but these were thousands of peaceful people, maybe tens of thousands, but people as far as we could see. They are protesting mainly social injustice, new taxes, and the world situation of the richer getting richer and the average person is losing more and more.

More impressive was the Place de la Concorde and half the Champs Elyess where closed. Something that never happens. I was so impressed that I had to call Vicki and share it with her.

Vicki later saved Scott and I and I am embarrassed to tell the tail. But, here it is.
I texted Vicki to see if she would pick me up at the airport early in the morning, like 5 am. She asked if I meant "today or tomorrow" and I said "today". She said "you are not coming home until tomorrow". Boy where we embarrassed.  Back to bed and enjoyed and another great day in Paris.

The famous Tullerie Gardens where close for the demonstration

People ask what is favorite restaurant in Paris and I usually reply "the one I am passing when I am hungry".  However there are a few places if we are near we will walk to them. We did that on the west bank to a hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant only to find that the owner, Mr. Thaun only to find that he had retired after 33 years and it is now a Taiwanese restaurant. The food was OK, but it was not the same as when Mr. Thaun was there. Another one of lifes' changes.
